Community Resource Center’s DV Program encompasses the operation of Carol’s House (a 24-bed emergency shelter), transitional housing units, and the off-site Transitioning to Independence program, case management and counseling, parenting and other life skills support groups and classes, and Children’s Domestic Violence Intervention and Prevention services.

Domestic Violence Program – Recent Stats

National studies indicate that 4 women lose their lives to domestic violence every day.

Domestic Violence Program Details
• Carol’s House, an emergency shelter that safely harbors up to 24 women and children who seek a temporary safe haven from their abusers(s) for up to 90 days
• Four on-site transitional housing units, available for a 12-24 month time period
• Transitioning to Independence, which provides rental assistance and continued supportive services for DV survivors for up to six months
• 24-hour, toll-free DV Hotline
• Counseling, case management, parenting classes, group therapy, free legal advocacy, and access to CRC’s Homeless Prevention and Intervention Services
• Children’s Domestic Violence Intervention and Prevention Services, including the Children’s Therapeutic Care Program, which provides therapeutic childcare, counseling, child-centered activities, and support for child victims of DV in a confidential environment
• Individual, group, and family counseling and therapy (free for all shelter residents and open to the community on a sliding scale)
