Children’s Therapeutic Care
Our Children’s Domestic Violence Intervention and Prevention Services include children’s counseling, family and youth enrichment activities, and the Therapeutic Children’s Center—the first shelter-based therapeutic childcare center in San Diego County.
The Children’s Therapeutic Center provides a safe, healthy environment for children recovering from the traumatic effects of domestic violence. Counseling and additional therapeutic activities specifically designed for our youngest clients promote age-appropriate childhood development, and help break the generational cycle of violence.
Children’s Domestic Violence Intervention and Prevention Services focus on children under the age of 18 who live at Carol’s House, one of our Transitional Housing units, or whose families participate in our off-site Transitioning to Independence program.
